On November 10-14, 2021, Oral Roberts University's mock government club Oklahoma Intercollegiate legislature competed against different schools in Oklahoma in a grueling five-day event that replicated the actual Government process of the House of Representatives and the Senate. ORU students competed in every event at the O.I.L. session: the House of Representatives, the Senate, moot court, and journalism, and they won events in significant categories, which is monumental because this has not happened in two years. ORU was second runner up in Overall Delegation, in the Senate category Juliana Song won the "best freshman," and Larissa Davenport won second runner up for "best legislation" for her Martial arts Bill. ORU got the second runner-up for "best delegation," and in the House of Representatives, Rees McDaniel won "best freshman," and Ronald Gitau won "best legislation" for his police education bill, and Bethel Sarfo won "best delegate" runner up. ORU was second runner up for "overall delegation," and Haliyma Clay won the second runner up for the journalism award. In addition to winning awards ORU, students Bethel Sarfo, Khensani Ngubeni, and Haliyma Clay got leadership positions at session. Bethel Sarfo got the positions of Assistant Floor Leader, Freshman Liaison, and Ethics Committee, Khensani Ngubeni got Sergeant at Arms and Committee Chair positions, and Haliyma Clay got the position committee chair. This First Session of the 53rd of O.I.L. is one to remember!
